I am thrilled with how they have embraced and use language and actions that consistently show respect, compassion, empathy and support for others. It is exactly the results I had hoped for when planning the project.\r\nIn a world so divided right now, I appreciate being able to introduce more social awareness and emotional support for these kiddos. The supplies have been here two days and they are already a huge game changer! The storage is so much better than before! The kids could hear out of one side or intermittently and now they have actually had to turn down their volume because they can hear correctly! It makes such a difference since we have also had to take our important progress monitoring test this week and they need to hear the instructions clearly to show they have grown! \r\n\r\nWe cannot express our gratitude enough for helping us out! Every student was in attendance and our whole day was full of excitement and wonder and learning. For weeks we discussed animal groups, their attributes and habitats. We learned about what we all need as animals to survive. Predators vs prey was a highlight and they loved the nocturnal animals focus. We even had a bat day where we learned in the dark only using flashlights. But, by far, owls were the star and dissecting those owl pellets was the coolest. The oohs and ahhhs were the best. The care and pride they took in dissecting and assembling the skeletons was more than I expected from kindergarteners but I think they knew and appreciated how special this project was for them.
