My students are benefiting from these new resources in various ways. They are enjoying sensory breaks to help regulate, keeping their hands and minds busy with the fidgets, and receiving hands on play with the sensory materials. We were able to expand out sensory regulation space and it has helped students have a safe space to turn to when they need a break from the hustle and bustle of a busy, overstimulating school day.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the materials, they were overjoyed. They were able to experience the sensory materials hands on and watching their joy was a great pleasure. They are now able to request a space that is designed just for them and this allows them to be the leaders of their own sensory and regulation needs which is a priceless skill.\r\n\r\nThe next steps for this project include: rotating through and continuing to expand out sensory experience within the classroom. This will include student centers spaces and self choice opportunities for each of them. Thank you again for your time and support and I look forward to sharing more progress and excitement in the months/years to come.","fullyFundedDate":1747072527652,"projectUrl":"project/relaxation-rejuvenation-and-sensory-re/9075101/","projectTitle":"Relaxation, Rejuvenation, and Sensory Regulation","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Baran","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9904693_orig.png?crop=1020,1020,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1737518587489","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9904693"},{"teacherId":9780483,"projectId":8830662,"letterContent":"On behalf of the Northmont Elementary School's Safety Patrol Team, I would like to express our heartfelt gratitude for the generous funding you provided for our new walkie talkies. Your support has made a significant and immediate impact on our ability to enhance safety and communication across our campus.\r\n\r\nThe excitement and enthusiasm among our team when we unboxed the walkie talkies was truly exhilarating! Our students could hardly wait to start using them, and I had to work quickly to set them up because they were eager to get started. We even had one of our more tech-savvy students step in, offering to help set up and teach others how to use the devices to make the process go faster. It was a fantastic moment of teamwork and leadership, as the students embraced the technology and helped one another.\r\n\r\nSince implementing the walkie talkies, our daily communication has improved exponentially. Our Safety Patrol team is able to stay connected in real time, which has allowed us to be more responsive to any issues that arise. Whether it's helping a student in need, alerting others about a potential safety concern, or coordinating patrols more efficiently, the walkie talkies have made a huge difference. Additionally, the new system has benefited our administrators and supervisors. They can now communicate directly with students on duty, which has streamlined processes and ensured that everyone is on the same page. \r\n\r\nWe are incredibly grateful for your support, and we can already see the positive effects of this funding in our daily routines. The walkie talkies have helped foster a stronger sense of responsibility, teamwork, and communication among our Safety Patrol members and supervisors.
