The league-approved baseballs you provided have already made a tremendous difference in the way our students train each day.\r\n\r\nThe moment the baseballs arrived, our players immediately put them to work in a structured skills-development practice. One of our first sessions (off season) was a defensive-drill circuit focused on ground-ball reads, quick transfers, and accurate throws. Before this project, we often had to limit the number of stations because we simply didn't have enough baseballs to keep drills moving. Now, the players rotate quickly, stay engaged, and get more meaningful touches during every off season practice. The pace, energy, and quality of instruction have all improved.\r\n\r\nDuring our first full field practice with the new baseballs, one of our freshmen, who is usually very quiet, looked around at the buckets filled with brand-new baseballs and said, \"Coach... it finally feels like we're a real team.\" His teammates nodded and smiled. It was a moment of pride that came directly from having the tools they deserve.\r\n\r\nThe excitement was instant. Students were opening boxes, testing the grip, and tossing balls back and forth before practice even began. Their faces said everything: joy, validation, and a renewed sense of motivation. They treated the equipment with respect because they knew it came from people who believe in them.\r\n\r\nBecause we now have consistent, reliable equipment, our team is beginning a new set of skill-building units focused on fielding mechanics, batting timing, and situational play. We're also planning to integrate more competitive practice stations so students can build confidence in real game moments. These baseballs will carry us through the season, helping every player grow stronger, more prepared, and more connected to their team.\r\n\r\nYour contribution didn't just supply equipment; it gave our students pride, opportunity, and the message that their hard work matters. They are curious, hands-on learners who love exploring how the Earth works, and your generosity has truly energized our classroom. With new streak plates, scratch plates, markers, and classroom tools, my students can now test mineral properties with accuracy and confidence.\r\n\r\nWhen they first opened the boxes, the excitement was immediate. Students passed around the new materials, comparing the feel and look of the plates, and could not wait to start testing their mineral samples. During our first lab, the room was filled with curiosity and laughter as they recorded their results and debated which minerals were harder or softer. The new posters and globe have also made our space more inviting and have helped students connect geology to larger Earth and space systems.\r\n\r\nOur next project will challenge students to apply what they have learned by identifying rocks and mapping Colorado's geologic regions. These experiences are helping them think like real scientists and discover new confidence in their abilities. The new supplies have helped us stay more organized, creative, and hands-on with our learning. My students are especially loving the updates to our hydroponics setup—using the air pumps, fog machine, and PVC pipes, they've been able to take more ownership over designing and maintaining the system. It's one thing to read about sustainability; it's another to actually build and care for it in class.\r\n\r\nHaving materials like filament, chargers, and filament dryers has also brought new life to our 3D printing projects. Students are using the printer to design everything from plant systems to biology models. One student who usually struggles with written work has really taken to designing prototypes. Seeing their confidence grow through hands-on work has been one of the most rewarding parts.\r\n\r\nSimple things like journals, organizers, and a good chair for small group support have made our day-to-day smoother and more student-focused. I can pull a group together to problem-solve or reteach without pulling resources away from others. The whiteboard and laminated materials have made our review games way more interactive, and the fridge lets us keep hydroponic solutions or science samples fresh.\r\n\r\nEvery item in this project is helping students take their learning further—and it's exciting to see how proud they are of the things they're building and creating. Students are using it to build models for competitions, class challenges, and even their own personal ideas. One student who usually kept to himself recently led a project designing a prototype for a sustainable hydroponics system—and the pride he felt seeing it print was incredible.\r\n\r\nThe iPad has become a go-to tool for sketching ideas, researching on the fly, and documenting progress. The color printer is making a big impact too—letting students create professional-quality visuals for presentations, signage, and competitions. In the past we've spent a long time cutting out, coloring, and gluing nucleotides together. While this is a good way to get kids thinking about the structure of DNA, it uses a lot of time and students tend to focus on if they're gluing and coloring correctly rather than thinking about the actual structure of DNA. This kit let my students see the nucleotide structure and visualize the hydrogen bonds much more clearly! Although we didn't use it for DNA replication this year, we probably will next year.\r\n\r\nThe students also liked using the puzzles! They were excited to get the pieces out of the box and worked together to make the individual nucleotides. We spent time learning about the organisms in our microcosm before we set up the bottles, including how each organism was expected to interact with the others. We looked at daphnia and Lumbriculus under the microscope and checked for interactions between these two organisms. We then set up our bottles and put our frogs in their new homes! Students worked in groups of 3-4 to take care of their frogs for the duration of the project.\r\n\r\nEach day students were responsible for collecting water quality data for their frogs to monitor important factors like pH and nitrate/nitrite levels. They learned what each parameter meant, why it was important, and how it interacted with the rest of the microcosm. Students fed their frogs every other day and changed the water in their tank once a week.\r\n\r\nThrough this project we were able to study earth's spheres and how they interacted with each other in a way that connected with something they saw every day. At the end of this part of the unit students were challenged to make those connections clear in the form of a care guide, poster, or brochure.\r\n\r\nStudents really enjoyed having frogs in class, and when our time with the frogs was over students had the opportunity to take their frog home as a pet! I'm happy to report that all of the frogs ended up in happy, loving homes.\r\n\r\nYour donations made all of this possible! Thank you again, so very much. Honestly, they're the most functional thing in my room other than my paper cutter and my lab counters.\r\n\r\nThe Chromosome kit was also a hit! Before I was using pop-beads I'd purchased on Amazon, which didn't have the centromere structure or the ability to accurately show un-duplicated vs duplicated DNA. I plan on using it again this year and I think it really helps kids to understand mitosis and meiosis!\r\n\r\nAgain, thank you so much for donating!
