We learned how to take focused notes in a hands-on, memorable way. Students watched a video on how to fold an origami frog and had to rely on their notes to complete the project.\r\n\r\nAs they worked, they quickly discovered what happens when details are missed—they had to go back, clarify, and add to their notes. They also realized which parts of their notes were most important, which led them to naturally ask great questions. This activity gave them the chance to practice 4 of the 5 phases of focused note-taking in a meaningful and fun context.\r\n\r\nWe wrapped up the week with a frog-jumping track and field event, which brought smiles, laughter, and a real sense of accomplishment. Headphones allow them to focus during digital lessons, styluses make writing and annotating on tablets more precise and enjoyable, and the touchpad and charging ports keep our classroom devices accessible and ready for every student. With these tools, students can explore interactive reading and writing activities, collaborate on projects, and develop essential digital literacy skills that will serve them well both in and out of the classroom.\r\n\r\nThe students are most excited about being able to use the styluses and touchpad to interact directly with their assignments. They love annotating texts, drawing connections, and creating work that feels more personal and engaging. Many students who struggled to stay focused or participate in group projects are now thriving because the technology allows them to work in ways that match their individual learning styles.\r\n\r\nOur ELL students have especially benefited from this technology. Digital resources allow them to hear text read aloud through headphones, access translation tools, and interact with assignments in ways that support their language development. One student, in particular, who previously struggled to participate in class discussions due to language barriers, is now confidently contributing ideas using the touchpad and stylus to organize and express her thoughts. Some of my students regularly need something to keep their hands busy, so I'm always looking for a new option that will be just the right fit. Whenever students see a new addition, they light up! I've organized a couple of small Connect4 tournaments, but I'm still working toward my dream of hosting a school-wide competition! We're also getting a lot of new students engaging with the brain-teasers and puzzles. Kanoodle has always been a go-to favorite for me, but since it went viral on Tik-Tok, all the kids want to play!\r\n\r\nOverall, your generosity has made me and my students feel special and treasured.
