I teach students in a very high poverty school. The majority of my students do not have access to books at home, which results in a lack of vocabulary and comprehension. Although they live in high poverty, they work hard, they keep trying, and they achieve more than many people believe they can. Reading is their gateway to a better future. I want my kids to leave my classroom not only with a passion for reading, but with a belief that they can make a difference.

About my class
