While we already had one 3D printer that we used regularly, adding an extra printer and more filament has significantly reduced the lag time between prints. This has allowed more students to access the technology, work efficiently, and complete high-quality projects on time. It's not just about printing objects, it's about building skills in design, engineering, and problem-solving that they'll carry with them for years to come.\r\n\r\nStudents love seeing their digital designs come to life, and the ability to physically hold something they created is incredibly rewarding. For example, in our Transportation Modeling event, Alyssa designed and 3D printed a food truck, along with detailed accessories. Her design won at the state level, and she is now heading to the TSA national conference in Nashville. In our Mechanical Engineering event, students used 3D-printed wheels to build a mousetrap-powered car, which also qualified for nationals. Our Off the Grid team, who placed fourth at the state conference, 3D printed their entire house model, including the water wheel, greenhouse, sidewalk, and river system.\r\n\r\n3D printing has not only elevated the quality of their projects but also deepened their understanding of current technology used in engineering and design fields.
