The students at North Port High School are learning to becoming role models by connection with others who are from different cultures and abilities. Each student recipient has embraced the opportunity to connect with someone new, engage in conversation and develop relationships based on interest or need.\r\n\r\nOne special example is a student arrived from a different country and another peer in their classroom realized they had a connection via their family heritage - a great opportunity to learn and lead!\r\n\r\nLearning how to lead and embrace others differences fosters student growth, both academically and personally. The thoughtfulness and kindness continues to make a positive impact on our students. Providing the snacks has been a way to engage students in conversation and provide an environment in which the kiddos are willing to learn and actively participate. \r\n\r\nA brief example of one of our students that we would like to share is that the student was unable to bring a snack from home due to their home life situation, and because of our wonderful and supportive donors, we were able to provide him with a breakfast snack, beverage and after school snack for test prep tutoring! The student's smile said it all. \r\n\r\nSharing snacks at test prep provides an opportunity to get to know each other, learn common interests, and engage in the learning that is presented.
