Students worked in teams to test angles, adjust designs, and measure distances as they launched marshmallows toward target cups. Watching students revise their designs and celebrate successful launches was a powerful moment of learning in action.\r\n\r\nWhen students first saw the materials, their excitement was immediate. They eagerly began brainstorming ideas, sketching designs, and collaborating with their peers. The activity sparked curiosity, creativity, and perseverance, especially for students who rarely have access to materials like these at home.\r\n\r\nNext, students will build on this experience by analyzing what worked, reflecting on design improvements, and connecting the activity to concepts such as forces, motion, and engineering design. Students were buzzing with ideas and couldn't wait to get started. \r\nThanks to generous donors, they've had a wonderful glimpse into our creative world, and we're excited for what comes next. When I pulled them out they began begging to go up in front of the class for a chance to get some candy. And review games are so intense because the winner gets to pick a prize. It's hilarious you should see it.\r\nThe part that's been the quietest but also made the biggest difference has been the hygiene products. Most of the kids don't even think about going and getting them out of the box, but the relief on my student's faces when I tell them that I have a solution ready to go to fix a hygiene issue they're insecure about is tangible.
