Flexible seating, such as 3 legged stools and balance balls, will give students more choices for seating within the classroom. This will give them more control over their academic day. They will be able to choose seating that is more comfortable for them. When students are more comfortable they spend more time on task. The more time they spend on task, the more they learn. With flexible seating, your classroom becomes more of a community where students work together to accomplish the task put to them. Kick bands, as well as various types of seats, will allow the students to move about more. Research has shown that when students move more oxygen flows to the brain, and the increase of oxygen keeps their minds much more focused and on task.
