The initial ask was for our kindergarten classes, but have actually used them with our 4th grade students as well. Our kindergarten students were able to understand the idea behind coding so much better by having this hands on experience with the coding mice. They had to program the mice to get from a starting point on a grid map to the gingerbread house. They were so proud of themselves when they accomplished this goal!\r\n\r\nThe surprising turn of events was when a fourth grade teacher saw me using them she wanted to know if their was a way her students could use them too. So I came up with social studies review games where they had to answer questions on the grid by coding the mouse to get from a visual/picture to the answer. \r\n\r\nThe students were fully engaged at both levels talk about it every time I see them! Thanks you for allowing the many opportunities that these little mice have brought into our school.","fullyFundedDate":1763567700960,"projectUrl":"project/code-and-go-mice-for-our-littles/9894095/","projectTitle":"Code and Go Mice for our Littles!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Qualls","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp3473782_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1458137409325","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/3473782"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_39788","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":1202,"numTeachers":58,"percentFrplEligible":29,"percentAsian":4,"percentBlack":3,"percentWhite":61,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":22,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"20.7:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":57.1,"schoolId":39788,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about The Nokesville School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"The Nokesville School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/virginia/prince-william-county-public-schools/nokesville-elementary-school/39788"}
