I had old bulletin boards with holes in it from years of use. Now I have been able to change these out and make my classroom more inviting and welcoming to all students. \r\nAlso now students are able to have individual binders that they can keep their work in. The binders I had before had rips. Students had drawn or written on them but now they are brand new and the students like the looks of them. \r\nAnother thing that has been helpful is the craft supplies. With getting more craft supplies I have not had to worry about having enough supplies to do projects! It is a relief to me to be able to know that these kids are not going hungry overnight or over the weekend. \r\n\r\n Several of our students benefited from the fidgets. The students have found these headphones with microphones to be extremely useful during writers workshop. Students often get frustrated because they cannot type very fast but love to publish their stories in Google Docs or Google Slides. Sometimes it can take a very long time to finish the writing process. Students are now excited to write and publish because speaking their stories into the microphone has taken all the frustration out of finding the keys on the keyboard. Students have a technology station to work on skills for both math and reading. The program we use in math teaches them lessons from K-2 that they may not have mastered before getting to third grade. This allows for them to fill in gaps in their learning independently while I work with other students so they are getting the most individual instruction possible. In reading we have programs to practice speaking and listening skills where students can record themselves reading to help fluency and they use headphones to listen to podcasts or stories read aloud to them to help with higher level comprehension. \r\nThe students are so excited to have more durable and reliable resources to work in these stations! One student who in previous years had headphones that broke, were not consistent in working, or had been worn out started \"its so nice to get through a station without having to switch to a new pair of headphones!\" \r\nThank you again for your donations they have helped us get a smooth start to the school year.","fullyFundedDate":1752758438031,"projectUrl":"project/lend-us-your-ears/9462434/","projectTitle":"Lend us your ears!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Chadwick","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7993602_orig.jpg?crop=2048,2048,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1752508520730","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7993602"},{"teacherId":4521137,"projectId":9208218,"letterContent":"Our learning community has been using the flexible seating in a variety of ways such as at the teachers table during math and reading, at the end of the day, and around the room as partners read together or play math games together.
