Unfortunately, this project started with a bumpy start. When it was funded, the printer had to be reordered 3 times. When it was finally ordered, I got it delivered at the beginning of this school year. \r\nSince I saw that it was not going to be delivered during the previous year, I told my students that I would print their work when they go to 3rd grade.\r\nWhen I printed their papers that they had worked so hard on and showed them to them, their faces lit up, and they were so happy to finally see their work in color and out of the computer.\r\nI told their new teacher what had happened and asked if they would hang their work for a bit. They are also able to write their opinion about a topic to try to persuade the reader. Lastly, all students write an informational writing assignment to provide information about the gold rush, African Americans, Latino Heritage month, and more. They had so much fun because they had to ask a peer questions about what they liked, and added something that connected to what their peer liked to their bracelet.\r\nThe students loved this activity so much that we have been doing it every two weeks. Students are given a different student in the classroom, and make a friendship bracelet that connects to what they like. I feel that the classroom environment has changed since making a friendship bracelet. The students practiced as a whole and really enjoyed the images that came with the poster.\r\nWhenever students feel upset, many of them know where to go and what to do.
