The Shakespearite's credo is "IF I CAN DO SHAKESPEARE, I CAN DO ANYTHING!". Though they attend a public school in an economically disadvantaged neighborhood in Southern California and most don't speak English at home, our kids have tremendous heart, spirit, and drive. It's considered a privilege for a kid to participate in the Shakespearites program (now in it's fifth season) and the entire neighborhood is extremely proud of it. Everyone comes out to support the kids, squiring them back and forth to rehearsals, helping create costumes and sets, doing their hair and makeup, and packing the house on the day of performance - it's a big event that the community looks forward to every year!
