My students are more engaged during science and math lessons, often referencing books they've read to make real-world connections. These books have helped them see themselves as engineers, scientists, problem-solvers, and innovators. They don't just memorize facts—they ask questions, seek answers, and dream big.\r\n\r\nAt the same time, the SEL books have helped us build a stronger, more compassionate classroom community. Through stories that focus on emotions, relationships, perseverance, and empathy, students are learning to better understand themselves and others. These books have opened doors to important conversations about kindness, resilience, and emotional regulation. I've seen a real shift in how students support one another and handle challenges, both academically and socially.\r\n\r\nTogether, these books support the whole child, nurturing both intellect and heart. They are helping my students grow into thoughtful learners and caring individuals, and I'm incredibly grateful for the opportunity to provide them with these meaningful resources.","fullyFundedDate":1593617297972,"projectUrl":"project/easing-the-mind-to-create-great-things/4986332/","projectTitle":"Easing the Mind to Create Great Things!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. H.","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp2972514_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1502280212391","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/2972514"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_47902","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":640,"numTeachers":44,"percentFrplEligible":83,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":7,"percentWhite":67,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":16,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"14.5:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"TOWN","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":68.1,"schoolId":47902,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Mount Zion Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Mount Zion Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/georgia/carroll-county-school-district/mt-zion-elementary-school/47902"}
