Since receiving the materials, my students have been excited to put them to use during our daily learning activities.\r\n\r\nOne of the biggest differences these materials have made is in student organization and independence. Students now have clearly labeled spaces for supplies and learning materials, which helps them find what they need quickly and keep their work areas neat. Instead of asking for help locating items, students are able to take responsibility for their own materials and stay focused on learning.\r\n\r\nOne memorable moment happened during a recent lesson when students used the new materials while practicing vocabulary and reading skills. Students worked with partners to sort words, build vocabulary, and discuss meanings together. Because everything was organized and easy to access, students were able to move smoothly between activities and stay engaged in their work.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the materials, they were incredibly excited. They loved exploring the new supplies and immediately began talking about how they could use them during centers and small group work. Many students commented on how easy it was to find things and keep their desks and learning areas organized.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we will continue using these resources to build strong organizational habits while supporting our reading and vocabulary lessons. Students will use the materials during small groups, independent practice, and classroom centers. As they grow more comfortable with these systems, they are becoming more responsible learners who can manage their materials and focus on their academic goals.\r\n\r\nYour generosity has truly made a difference in our classroom. Thank you for helping create a space where students can learn, stay organized, and grow in confidence every day.","fullyFundedDate":1765047833709,"projectUrl":"project/investing-in-student-organizations-and-s/9807202/","projectTitle":"Investing in Student Organizations and Small Group Learning","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Downs","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10272507_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1758453032094","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10272507"},{"teacherId":9664677,"projectId":8655853,"letterContent":"The students have enjoyed all the donations we received! My students are more engaged during science and math lessons, often referencing books they've read to make real-world connections. These books have helped them see themselves as engineers, scientists, problem-solvers, and innovators. They don't just memorize facts—they ask questions, seek answers, and dream big.\r\n\r\nAt the same time, the SEL books have helped us build a stronger, more compassionate classroom community. Through stories that focus on emotions, relationships, perseverance, and empathy, students are learning to better understand themselves and others. These books have opened doors to important conversations about kindness, resilience, and emotional regulation. I've seen a real shift in how students support one another and handle challenges, both academically and socially.\r\n\r\nTogether, these books support the whole child, nurturing both intellect and heart. They are helping my students grow into thoughtful learners and caring individuals, and I'm incredibly grateful for the opportunity to provide them with these meaningful resources.","fullyFundedDate":1593617297972,"projectUrl":"project/easing-the-mind-to-create-great-things/4986332/","projectTitle":"Easing the Mind to Create Great Things!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. H.","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp2972514_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1502280212391","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/2972514"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_47902","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":640,"numTeachers":44,"percentFrplEligible":83,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":7,"percentWhite":67,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":16,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"14.5:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"TOWN","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":69.9,"schoolId":47902,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Mount Zion Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Mount Zion Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/georgia/carroll-county-school-district/mt-zion-elementary-school/47902"}
