I teach students with significant mental health and behavioral challenges. As a result, they have missed a lot of instructional time in their previous years. Given the support in our room, they are able to better access the curriculum, some for the first time. The games we received through your donations help them remediate the missing building blocks in a fun way. These books have fantastic online resources that provide excellent quality recordings and animated note tracking. The students love the exercises and have increased their reading ability significantly. \r\nWhen the students first saw the materials, they were really excited. The books have a clear and clean visual look with larger font. This translates into easier to read music for my 4th and 5th grade students. I have also had several students come into class saying they have been practicing more and working ahead in the book on their own as they are so engaged with the material.\r\nThe donation of these books to our classroom has significantly improved the quality of instruction. These readers allow for a variety of options for the teacher and students to increase and apply their skills taught. This allows teachers to help student decode and recognize words first and have skills to decide new words, to become stronger and more confident readers. My students were excited to read the chapter books and the science books. They were very appreciative of the heavy duty pencil sharpener; ) \r\n\r\nReading in my classroom looks like me working with and pulling students in a small-group that need more targeted support while simultaneously other students are working on independently reading their text of choice (sometimes around the room out of their seat) and some others are finishing work from reading class earlier in our schedule. I enjoy teaching as a whole and especially reading and writing as these skills are much harder I feel for kids to learn...which is why I extra love teaching them. \r\n\r\nI spend and have spent in previous years, so much money on supplies and materials for my classroom and the growth of students. Thanks to your generosity, my students and I have already begun using the new resources, and the materials have a a great impact on learning.\r\nOne standout moment happened during a recent lesson when students worked on a hands-on project using the new materials. They collaborated in small groups, tested their ideas, and explained their thinking with confidence. I saw students who are usually hesitant raise their hands, ask thoughtful questions, and take pride in their work. The resources gave them the tools they needed to fully engage and explore the lesson in a meaningful way.\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, the excitement was instant. My students couldn't wait to see what was inside the boxes, and several asked, \"Can we use these today?\" \r\nNext, my class will continue building on this work by applying what they've learned to a larger project. They'll be refining their skills, reflecting on their progress, and sharing their final work with peers. These resources will continue to support both independent learning and collaboration as we move forward.\r\nThank you for giving my students this opportunity.
