With the expanded space and donated items, our Matadors now have a more inviting environment where they can decompress, reset, reflect, and seek support.\r\n\r\nAs students began seeing the Wellness Center come together, every visit was met with excitement from \"Wow! I love this space so much better\" to the most popular request: \"Can I sit on the beanbag?\" As seen in the before picture, the space was tight and a desk divided us. Now, students now have three different seating areas to choose from, a table to work on assignments or psychoeducational activities, and room to move around when discussing topics that may be causing them stress.\r\n\r\nIn my role, I always ask students if they've eaten or if they need anything. Having baskets with snacks and hygiene products has made a real difference in meeting those everyday needs. I'm excited to continue growing this space alongside our counseling team and to keep gathering student feedback so we can make it even better.\r\n\r\nThank you again for your generosity and belief in our students' well-being.","fullyFundedDate":1769178087367,"projectUrl":"project/making-the-matador-wellness-center-a-rea/9982288/","projectTitle":"Making the Matador Wellness Center a Reality!","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Rangel","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10396622_orig.jpg?crop=800,800,x0,y29&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1767674334730","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10396622"},{"teacherId":4369601,"projectId":9576901,"letterContent":"The students are using the vibration plate, trampoline, swing and peanut ball to regulate their bodies throughout the day in order to be able to focus better on their work. \r\nThe students were excited when the packages came in and even more excited when they saw the actual items. \r\n\r\nOur students are excited to show some of our other ESN classes on campus all the neat things we got thanks to our donors. Having access to proper tools, raised garden beds, and adaptive materials has created hands-on learning opportunities that go far beyond the classroom. Gardening allows my students to practice fine and gross motor skills, follow multi-step directions, and develop responsibility as they care for living plants. The sensory experience of feeling soil, smelling herbs, and watching plants grow has been especially meaningful, providing both calming moments and exciting discoveries. These resources have turned our outdoor space into a living classroom where every student can participate and feel successful.\r\n\r\nThe impact has been more than just academic, it has been personal and empowering. For many of them, this is their first experience nurturing something from seed to plant, and it builds confidence, patience, and teamwork.
