These materials will help my students with being able to complete anything from simple tasks such as sorting all the way through being able to communicate. Students in the classroom need to work on a variety of skills; starting with very simple skills as being able to differentiate between colors, learning how to count by 1's, building on their vocabulary to be able to communicate with people around them.
With these materials, students will be able to do work at their level and will not struggle in their learning new skills. Students in my classroom will use the counting rods, lacing set, scoop a bug, fruit counters and magna tiles to improve on their fine motor skills. The fruit counters and counting rods will also be used to help students improve with their 1-1 correspondence.
Students with Mod/severe disabilities struggle with language skills, so by providing them with a variety of pictures for them to look at it will be easy for them to acquire language skills.
Our students can also get overstimulated and require activities that will help them calm down. The sensory tubs would be ideal for this and would help our students with coping skills.Students learn better when they succeed and will want to keep learning.
