We work with students every week on Thursday and Friday from 2:30pm-4:30pm in a groundbreaking program called the Workplace Challenge. The program involves working with professionals at a company or non-profit on a cool problem or challenge. The one we are currently working on involves M&T bank and commercial loan origination. It's a lot of qualitative and quantitative factors. We visited the old Domino Sugar Factory that is now modern offices last week which was a thrill. We also worked on spreadsheets to determine if we would make the loan to the building or not at the beginning. The spreadsheets are new to us and our students but it was so amazing to see them working and wrestling with it with us for hours after school. Many of our students don't eat lunch for a variety of reasons including money and the school lunch being subpar. But thanks to your generous action in providing snacks, our students are happy and charged up for working every Thursday & Friday. \r\n\r\nThank you for giving us fuel to keep the flame of learning alight late into the afternoons!
