Our area has a high population of students in need of school supplies, and many of our students are unable to bring their own calculators to class. Having a classroom set available for everyone has made a tremendous difference. Students are able to participate fully in lessons without worrying about having the necessary tools, and we were able to move through our first chapter more efficiently while increasing student understanding of these important concepts.\r\n\r\nWe have not yet begun our after-school clubs and exploratory classes, where students will have the opportunity to use our 3D printer. However, I know that having a working 3D printer available this year will be incredibly exciting for the students who participate. It will give them the chance to explore creativity, problem-solving, and hands-on learning in ways that extend beyond the traditional classroom.\r\n\r\nThank you for investing in our students and helping make these learning opportunities possible. They were so eager to dive in that I actually had to slow them down to teach the proper handling techniques first! Just two weeks ago, we used the microscopes and slides to explore plant and animal cells during our unit on ecosystems and cell organelles. The engagement was incredible; after completing their required sketches of plant and animal structures, many students chose to stay at their stations to explore even more slides. One student even shouted out how much he loved the lab, and seeing those genuine smiles of discovery reminded me why I love teaching. Your support provided a hands-on experience that I simply could not have offered on my own.\r\nWhile we have had a blast with the microscopes, the excitement is far from over. I am already planning how to integrate the remaining resources into our curriculum. Though we are nearing the end of this term, next year's students will use the playdough to build 3D models of atoms during our unit on matter, and we will be utilizing the space goggles for a research-based lab where students can \"travel\" through the stars. My students are more enthralled with science than ever before. Thank you for making such a tangible difference in their lives and for helping me foster a true love for scientific discovery in our classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1765512643933,"projectUrl":"project/help-us-explore-the-world-and-beyond/9923749/","projectTitle":"Help Us Explore the World and Beyond!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Greer","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-3_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9610645"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_102757","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":428,"numTeachers":25,"percentFrplEligible":90,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":54,"percentIndigenous":1,"percentLatinx":38,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":3,"gradesServed":"K - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"17.1:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"TOWN","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":78.8,"schoolId":102757,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Mountain View Preparatory School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Mountain View Preparatory School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/arizona/cottonwood-oak-creek-school-district/mountain-view-preparatory-school/102757"}
