Some of my students even say that they are more excited about using micro:bit computers than any of the other tools we have used in science class this year.\r\n\r\nWhen I shared the news of our project being funded and explained a bit about micro:bit computers, I could feel the excitement in the room increase. Many of my students already decided they want to program the micro:bits to play rock, paper, scissors with their friends. This game is already a valuable conflict resolution tool at the school, and they are excited about integrating technology into their play. Other students are planning to make micro:bit name tags and animate symbols, such as hearts or stars. This project provided my students with the opportunity to try a few varieties of \"space food,\" including freeze dried fruits, candies, and ice cream sandwiches. \r\nWhile the texture of freeze dried snacks was surprising for some students, all realized that the flavors of these snacks were familiar favorites. Providing my students with this type of opportunity helps me expand their horizons just a little beyond the school's walls.
