Caring for the garden helped them understand the seasons in a hands-on way. Instead of just talking about spring, they experienced it growing right in front of them, which built their excitement and helped them remember the signs of the new season.\r\n\r\nWorking in the indoor garden also strengthened both their fine motor and social skills. Scooping soil, pinching tiny seeds, spraying water bottles, and soon we will be carefully transplanting seedlings. All of this required coordination and control, giving their small hands meaningful practice. At the same time, the children learned to take turns, share tools, and work together to care for the plants. They discussed their observations, problem-solved when a plant drooped, and celebrated new growth as a team. The garden became more than a science activity it was a shared responsibility that encouraged cooperation, patience, and pride in their collective efforts.
