Last semester my students read A Long Walk to Water by Linda Sue Parker. The first project we did with the chomp saw was a replica of the village in which Salva drills a well in Southern Sudan. The attention to detail and creativity really comes to life in this project. \r\nI have one student in particular who is obsessed with running the machine. He actually had seen videos on the chomp saw and has been wanting one but due to cost he hasn't been able to. He builds with it during study hall and the imagination and design this student has is a perfect fit. He just finished constructing a welding hood and has made plans to build a pickup truck next. \r\nCurrently my students are working on research papers based on topics they choose... they are all over the place! After we finish up the papers, students have to create a 3D model to represent their topics and then complete a 2 minute presentation on it to the class.
