Students love gathering with classmates at the new round tables, where up to six students can collaborate comfortably during reading groups, writing projects, and problem-solving activities. The cubbies have also been a wonderful addition. Each student now has a dedicated space to store their belongings, helping them stay organized and take pride in keeping their materials neat rather than stuffing items into their desks. When the materials first arrived, students were excited and immediately began discussing where they wanted to sit and how they would organize their new spaces—there was a true sense of ownership and excitement.\r\n\r\nWe are currently using these new resources to support small-group literacy instruction and collaborative project work. Students rotate between table groups to participate in guided reading, peer editing, and hands-on learning tasks, and the flexible seating allows them to choose spaces where they feel most focused and comfortable. Moving forward, our next steps include expanding collaborative research and writing projects where students work in teams to plan, draft, and present their learning. Your generosity has created a more engaging, organized, and student-centered classroom, and we are deeply grateful for the opportunities these resources continue to provide for our learners.\r\n\r\nWith sincere appreciation,","fullyFundedDate":1764734704567,"projectUrl":"project/help-complete-our-flexible-seating-optio/9867807/","projectTitle":"Help Complete Our Flexible Seating Options","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Yoshida","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-2_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mrsyoshida"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_28457","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":919,"numTeachers":36,"percentFrplEligible":44,"percentAsian":57,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":2,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":34,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"25.5:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":84.8,"schoolId":28457,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Monterey Highlands Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Monterey Highlands Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/alhambra-unified-school-district/monterey-highlands-elementary-school/28457"}
