I love the fact that some of them got to \"play\" in dirt and had never done so. The pots didn't all produce, but the ones that did got the kids very excited. As for the mushroom grow box, what an amazing fungus. The students even tasted it and \"pretended\" to like it. Their faces said otherwise. Each of our students will be able to get a book to build their literacy skills for the summer. We currently have caterpillars in our room that are turning into chrysalises, so receiving the book about these animals tied right into what we are learning and the kids were excited. We know building a strong foundation and love of reading will take our kids far. \r\nIn our classroom, the students are able to go to our library and pick out their own books.
