Because of your generosity, our library became more than just a place to check out books—it became a welcoming space where students felt encouraged to stay, read, and belong.\r\n\r\nBy providing snacks, you helped remove a real barrier for many students. Hunger is distracting, and a quick snack allowed students to refuel, relax, and focus. What surprised us most was how powerful that small gesture became. Students who rarely visited the library began stopping by regularly.\r\n\r\nThe refreshments acted as an invitation—but reading was the reward. While enjoying snacks, students browsed shelves, asked for book recommendations, started conversations about what they were reading, and stayed longer than ever before. Circulation increased, reluctant readers gave books a chance, and the library buzzed with energy and connection.\r\n\r\nThank you for investing in our students, our readers, and our school community. The donation made by you allowed me to push into kindergarten rooms and share with them the love of science. When I went into the rooms, the students eyes were so surprised. They were super excited to see blocks, cars and ramps. We first talked about what science is and then started our lessons on motion and push/pull. We started small with easy experiments and worked up to more complex where we added weights. We took turns trying different experiments and then we had some free play. The students really enjoyed making hypotheses, trying the experiments and then having free play with the items for the last five minutes. This way students are able to come into the Counseling Office and shop our closet for what they need and they are able to do it in private if they want to. We also have a shelf in the hallway outside of our office that is stocked with these items as well. This gives students access to items without having to come in and directly ask for them if they don't feel comfortable. \r\n\r\nThis project has given us the opportunity provide kids with basic needs through two avenues, giving them the ability to come into the office and speak with us or to remain anonymous and take what they need when they need.
