Although we use software to design 3D prints, the 3D pens are by far the favorite in my classroom. They are easy to use, provide opportunities to use various colors, and allow students to control the extruder in the form of a pen. \r\nStudents are most excited to create products of their choice with the pens that they can use in their room. Most of the time they create a cartoon or food item to add to their personal collections. We have used the 3D pens to print animals in a habitat studied, to make geometric cities, and currently we are 3D printing planets to scale to make a galaxy model.\r\nStudents show engagement, excitement and deeper understanding when we create with the 3D pens. I have witnessed students that are unmotivated, ask questions, create and excel with 3D models. So, we want to thank you for enabling us to get cordless 3D pens, and lots of different color filament in order to foster engagement and excitement in our middle school.","fullyFundedDate":1731807969945,"projectUrl":"project/future-3d-designers/8927232/","projectTitle":"Future 3D Designers","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. McKenzie","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8642828_orig.jpg?crop=4284,4284,x0,y128&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1731016989898","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mckenziep"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_53783","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":500,"numTeachers":16,"percentFrplEligible":54,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":2,"percentWhite":51,"percentIndigenous":3,"percentLatinx":35,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"6 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"31.2:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":52.0,"schoolId":53783,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Mohave Valley Junior High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Mohave Valley Junior High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/arizona/mohave-valley-elementary-school-district/mohave-valley-junior-high-school/53783"}
