Because the boards are high-quality and sturdy, students feel confident writing, revising, and sharing their thinking without worrying about smudging or damage. The smooth surface makes it easy for them to clearly display their work, which helps both peers and the teacher quickly see their reasoning and provide feedback.\r\nThe vertical setup encourages students to get out of their seats and actively participate. When students stand and work at the boards, they are more focused, collaborative, and willing to take academic risks. They talk through their ideas, problem-solve together, and learn from other groups by observing different approaches around the room. This movement and visibility increase engagement and promote deeper thinking.\r\nThe double-sided feature allows more students to work at the same time, maximizing participation and making small-group work more efficient. It also provides flexibility for quick transitions between activities or subjects without needing additional materials.\r\nThe collapsible design has been especially helpful for classroom management and organization. The boards are easy to store, set up, and put away, which saves time and keeps the classroom uncluttered. Being able to quickly display and remove them makes it simple to incorporate vertical learning into daily lessons without disrupting instructional flow.\r\nOverall, these boards have made vertical learning more accessible, organized, and effective, helping students stay actively engaged, collaborate more, and take ownership of their learning.","fullyFundedDate":1763614026780,"projectUrl":"project/standing-up-for-learning/9788320/","projectTitle":"Standing Up for Learning","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Thomason","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-5_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9592868"},{"teacherId":10168169,"projectId":9880950,"letterContent":"Because of your generosity, our classroom has become a more comfortable, flexible, and joyful place to learn. The carpet squares have made the biggest difference for my students. Our classroom has tile floors, and before this project, students often had to sit on a cold, hard, and sometimes dirty surface when working together on the floor. Now, they each have a clean, cozy spot to gather, collaborate, and read. It may seem simple, but having a comfortable place to learn has helped students feel more at home and more willing to engage in group work and independent reading.\r\n\r\nThe rolling desks have also been transformative for both my students and me. I use one to move freely around the room with my laptop while teaching and controlling slides, allowing me to stay close to students and support them in real time. The additional rolling desks for students have been especially impactful for those who need movement throughout the day. They can stand, shift, and move while still completing their work, which has helped them stay focused and reduced behavior issues. Instead of losing learning time, they are able to keep working while meeting their need to move. Inexpensive items have made a big difference; individual whiteboard erasers have supported our implementation of Building Thinking Classroom strategies. With nine boards around the room, having a designated eraser for each space keeps students accountable and makes transitions between problem-solving tasks quick and smooth.\r\n\r\nEven the smallest items have made a big impact. The multi-pack of staple removers has allowed students to help update our bulletin boards, turning classroom displays into something they take pride in and look forward to. Your support has helped create a classroom where students feel comfortable, capable, and proud of their work. Thank you for helping us build a space where every child can learn in the way that works best for them.","fullyFundedDate":1763432292363,"projectUrl":"project/flexible-minds-and-spaces-supporting-ev/9880950/","projectTitle":"Flexible Minds and Spaces: Supporting Every Learner in 5th Grade","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Schank","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-5_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10168169"},{"teacherId":9592868,"projectId":9788342,"letterContent":"We have been using the new resources daily during our science block, especially during outdoor exploration time. One of our favorite activities has been using the plastic cups alongside our timers to conduct hands-on investigations with plants and weather. Students use the cups to hold water for experiments, observe plant needs, and measure how environmental factors affect water.\r\n\r\nWhen students first saw the materials, they were excited to use \"real science tools.\" The timers in particular sparked a lot of curiosity, and students immediately began asking questions and making predictions about what would happen over time.\r\n\r\nA memorable moment was when we placed cups of water outside on a sunny day and timed how long it took for the water to evaporate. Students made predictions, recorded observations, and discussed how weather conditions like heat and sunlight affect evaporation. This led to great conversations about weather patterns and scientific thinking.\r\n\r\nNext, students will continue using these materials to design their own simple experiments. They will compare drying times on sunny versus cloudy days, observe plant growth over time, and practice making predictions and conclusions based on evidence. These resources have truly helped turn our lessons into engaging, hands-on learning experiences, and the students are excited to keep exploring.","fullyFundedDate":1763580527678,"projectUrl":"project/future-problem-solvers-stem-solutions-f/9788342/","projectTitle":"Future Problem-Solvers: Stem Solutions for Hawai‘i","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Thomason","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-5_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9592868"},{"teacherId":10295693,"projectId":9780650,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your incredibly generous donation of a large classroom rug and floor cushions for our third grade students.
