Believe it or not, yoga blocks are a versatile tool. \r\nEvery adult and student who has seen the blocks has commented on the color. They like the smooth finish and the soft, yet firm feel. The blocks are light, which is perfect for our littest yogis who don't have big muscles to hold heavy blocks. \r\nSo far, we have used the blocks to sit upon on the floor, making crisscrossed legs a little more comfortable and allowing us to sit up straighter. Better posture helps us take fuller breaths by not collapsing our torso and lungs. Fuller breaths can help us learn and regulate our emotions. \r\nWe've also used the blocks to help us find balance when trying and holding shapes on a single leg. The blocks also came in handy for forward stretches (this is where the lightweight is really important!) that engage our shoulders. \r\n\r\nBecause the school year just started, we haven't yet had an opporunity for our staff's evening yoga group to resume. We are excited to include the blocks as props in our practice though. With your generous donation our project was fully funded and all of the items have been received. \r\n\r\nThese items have been sorted and are now available to our students as a park of the snack bag program. These students will now have snacks to help fill the food gap when they are not in school. When students do not have to worry about food they are able to focus on learning in school. \r\n\r\nHaving such a wide variety and assortment of snacks gives students more choices when using the snack bag program.
