My young students use many consumable materials, and the classroom budget cannot keep up with their needs. \r\n\r\nWe use play dough regularly in the classroom. It is fun, sensory, creative material for developing the small muscles in the hands which are used for writing. We have a play dough table all the children use during the week. The dough dries out and loses its elasticity after time, so it needs to be replaced multiple times each year. \r\n\r\nThe scented markers are used for projects and in the art center. I requested the scented markers, because they create conversation and add a sensory component to the artwork. The children loved these. They were talking as they tried to determine the scent, which they enjoyed most, and in sharing the colors. Developing language and using descriptive words are skills we practice in class. \r\nThank you for these fantastic, fun, useful materials. We are so happy to use them in class.","fullyFundedDate":1745846962934,"projectUrl":"project/play-dough-and-scented-markers-for-senso/9191863/","projectTitle":"Play Dough and Scented Markers for Sensory Learning","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Harl","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-1_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/gharl"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_4669","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":420,"numTeachers":22,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":11,"percentBlack":1,"percentWhite":0,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":86,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"19.1:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":63.2,"schoolId":4669,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Aptitude Community Academy on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Aptitude Community Academy","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/alum-rock-elementary-school-district/mildred-goss-elementary-school/4669"}
