A Year of Firsts: Name Tags, Journals, Diversity Art Projects
Funded Aug 9, 2022Every year the start-up costs for the classroom are tremendous. I wanted to thank you for helping me meet the needs of my disadvantaged students. The students or I call them the littles and their parents are so grateful in helping our classroom. I always need new name tags, name badges, the equity wooden sticks and brand new journls. I can't run my classroom without all of the items. I use the equity sticks that look like people when I'm pulling names so I won't call all on the same student. They love to deocorate them and make them their own. I say, "Boom, Boom Pow, Who is it going to be now?" Then I pull a stick from the bucket of people, the name I fondly call it. As far as the name tags, they need to wear fancy ones in the beginning of the year so they can come easily become unattached so when they are playing at recess they nametags won't choke a student. We always start with new journals to practice writing their names and learning how to draw pictures. All of thes items are essential in starting my classroom. Thank you from the bottom of my heat for your generosity.”

Funded Aug 3, 2024I'm forever grateful for your charitable contributions to my classroom. Everyday I am reminded of your generosity when it comes my under-resourced students. Daily, my students come into my classroom to retrieve their plastic name sleeves, an expo -marker and their playdoh from their name boxes on the counter. The first order of the day is to practice writing their name on the plastic sleeve with their expo marker on one side of the plastic sleeve. After completing their name practice, they flip the plastic sleeve over and mold the playdoh to create their name. With this daily practice, most of my students will be able to write their first name by January. Other ways I use the playdoh is at the teacher table. We use playdoh to form the alphabet and practice counting playdoh balls. As regards to the remaining plastic sleeves, the students use them for letter writing and number writing practice”

Funded Aug 9, 2022I'm so excited this project got funded. This year I wanted to expand my curriculum by providing my students with Scholastic's Early Learning Magazines. Yeah! My wish came true and I can't wait to use this in my classroom. I know this will help build vocabulary with my students and hopefully encourage them to love reading.”

Funded Dec 30, 2021Thank you for the awesome and amazing new blue bean bags for my reading corner. The kids love to take a book and read with their friends in the area. Everybody want to come to the reading corner and read a book. My reading center was never a popular place to visit during Choice Time; now everyone wants to read in the reading center.
Without Donors like yourself, I am able to make my classroom such a warm inviting place for my students. I work in a low income area where they do not have access to books or pretty classrooms.
Thank you for your support and love.”

Functional and Fun
Funded Nov 15, 2021Thank you for the additional book bins and labels. My library looks awesome. It is so organized. I am able to find books that I didn't even know that I owned. I realized that I had so many duplicates of the same books. When I have a lesson about feelings, I am able to go to the feeling book bins or if we are studying animals, I am able to locate the books on my shelves.
This past month we were reading Dr. Seuss books snd I was able to find the books and put them out on shelves for the children. It has made my teaching that much easier when you are organized. The labels are awesome because they are made for the book bins. Again, thank you donors for making this happen.”

Funded Sep 23, 2021I love the water color paints. The students were sooo excited to use this new tool to create art. Everyone's pictures were completely different. It is very interesting to see a young student's mind and how they choose their colors to create their own unique Christmas tree.
I'm extremely excited to add this new art medium with my students to create other fun activities with the watercolors. Again, I was truly amazed how the paints added to my lesson. One little girl said to me, this is the best day ever, when she got to use the watercolor paints. Again, thank you donors for supporting my students; without your support, I wouldn't be able to afford to bring these opportunities to my students.”

Funded Aug 12, 2021Thank you for the Dot and Learn Journal Counting Books. It adds a fun twist using our dot markers to do math. The kids love using the books. The counting work books are wonderful with number recognition and counting.
When I bring out these workbooks, the students are so excited and engaged to complete the math lessons. They are always asking when are we going to do the next activity. The students love the colorful graphics in the books as well as the thick paper so the dot markers don't bleed through the paper. I am so thankful to our wonderful donors to help make my math lessons more interesting to our students.”

Funded Jun 1, 2021Yay!! thank you so much for the most amazing crafts for a TK teacher. These crafts are a dream especially this year because every Oriental Learning craft is in an individual bag. Beacause of Covid this year everything has to be individualized for each student. Gone are the days of community supplies as well as crafts.
This year we have made Turkey decorations, a hedgehog magnet for the fall and a cute Halloween picture frame. I can't wait to do my Christmas crafts with my students including cute Christmas ornaments, banners and hats.
Without you Donors, I couldn't have all these amazing activities for my socio/low economic students. By no means could I afford these fun crafts for the children.”

Teachers Pay Teachers
Funded Apr 20, 2021Thank you so much for the most amazing teacher gift you can give a teacher, a gift card to Teachers Pay Teachers. It is like Christmas every day of the year.
The adorable ideas that I have bought for may classroom are not only incredible but time saving for me too. I'm not the most creative teacher so when I go on to Teacher's Pay Teachers to find ideas that I can buy - it gives me such joy. If I had to create something for my classroom it takes me sooooooo much time and it doesn't look sooooo good.
I have bought book labels for my book bins. I bought homework packets I have bought colorful books detailing fire safety drills, clean-up time, and how to be a friend. All of these ideas I have bought on Teachers Pay Teacher are beautiful and colorful. I sincerely do not have the computer skills to make a rule book look so inviting. Again, thank you so much for the TPT gift card.”
