The Heggerty lessons give my students daily opportunities to practice through repetition, movement, and oral activities while keeping them actively involved. I was constantly being asked, \"What time is lunch?\" rather than receiving responses to our reading lesson.\r\nThis donation is a an incredibly big deal for little first graders. They lit up like it was Christmas when we opened the boxes together as a class. That day we were able to have a nice snack break in between related arts and our reading lesson. For the first time, I did not get a single question about lunch time! \r\nSo, from the bottom of this teacher's heart, thank you for your generous donation and allowing me to provide my first graders with a snack. I work for a Title 1 school, and a lot of our families genuinely cannot provide snacks for their children, let alone a snack for our entire classroom. I love watching the kids who have never played before realize that they really can do it! The smaller paddles have been especially great for my younger students and have made it easier for them to be successful. There have been lots of missed balls, lots of laughs, and lots of celebrating when they finally get a good rally going!\r\n\r\nWe're going to keep building on those skills and eventually put everything together to actually play games.
