A positive classroom environment is essential to help the students learn. I believe that students can't constantly be sitting in their desks in order to have a fun and engaging learning experience. My classroom consists on whole group instruction, centers, read alouds, independent time, and movement. I would like a carpet and a bean bag in my classroom in order to make my classroom feel welcoming to my second graders and to provide them with an opportunity to move their learning away of their desks from time to time. These items will help my classroom feel more like a home to my students and create an effective community of learners.
