We taught them simple skills and many of them have enjoyed it so much I see them carrying their projects with them and constantly practicing when they finish their academic work in class. The popcorn machine you provided has become a magnet for our reading program. We use it to create a fun theater-style experience where students watch brief clips from films based on books giving them a \"taste\" of the story and encouraging them to check out the book to enjoy the full experience. One day, a student walked by and immediately asked, \"How do I get popcorn?\" I told him, \"You have to read!\" He checked out a book on the spot and joined the group. That is exactly the kind of spark we hoped this project would create.\r\n\r\nWhen our students first saw the popcorn machine and the fun movie-themed setup, their faces lit up with excitement. They were begging for popcorn and asking when they could join the reading challenge. Many of them had never experienced books in this way paired with a celebration, community, and a sense of reward. The aroma of fresh popcorn has become a powerful motivator and conversation starter, leading students to talk about what they are reading and discover new titles based on films they already love.\r\n\r\nOur next steps are to continue building reading stamina and strengthening the love of reading by expanding these literacy celebrations. We hope to add additional incentives, such as t-shirts, movie tickets, and special themed reading events. I also dream of taking our students to the movie theater to see \"Sarah's Oil\", a powerful story about a young girl who becomes a millionaire showing them that their stories and imaginations can take them far. Because of you, a simple bag of popcorn has turned into an invitation to dream, read, and believe in new possibilities.\r\n\r\nThank you again for investing in our students and in the joy of reading.","fullyFundedDate":1752193341397,"projectUrl":"project/from-page-to-screen-enhancing-reading-w/9190284/","projectTitle":"From Page to Screen: Enhancing Reading with a Popcorn Experience","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Lewis","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-4_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7241247"},{"teacherId":1168643,"projectId":9584512,"letterContent":"Thank you for your contributions to my classroom.
