Our students have loved using our new LEGO SPIKE Essential kits! Your generosity propelled this grant forward quickly and allowed us to purchase our first two kits! \r\nFollowing this Donors Choose grant, I applied for two other grants so that we now have a full classroom set of 12 kits. Our 4th and 5th grade science clubs were the first to use the LEGO SPIKE kits. The energy in the room was palpable! Students worked through the tutorials quickly and were on to building the first projects: a moving carousel and Ferris wheel! Students were SO engaged! They worked well with their partners, consulting and helping one another.\r\nThe following week 3rd grade classes were introduced to the LEGO SPIKE kits. They were as quick to learn as the science club students and loved the projects just as much!\r\nOur science clubs have continued to use the SPIKE kits for several weeks. This week the 5th grade classes will have their turn, followed by our 4th grade classrooms next week.\r\nAfter spring break I look forward to introducing our 2nd grade classes to the LEGO SPIKE kits.
