Many student come in to school without the supplies they need to be successful in class. They love to use dry erase markers to respond to material while group. They are constantly using glue and crayons in group rotations. They use the pencil boxes to keep all of their materials organized in their desk. My students were very excited when the materials arrived because they love to get new supplies. They especially loved the response white board paddles and erasers for their white board. The students were overjoyed to see and build their composter as well as assemble and lay out the protective netting for the plants we have already put in our garden beds. The students had fun watching the pods of dirt come to life with water and planting seeds that we hope will produce beautiful flowers for the school. Students asked that we wait on the garden labels because they wanted to plan out more vegetables next year and companion plants to grow alongside them!\r\n The materials that we have used this year have not gone unnoticed in our scool and community as over 50 students have signed up or shown interest in continuing this project next school year and building upon the foundation that your donations have allowed us to start this year. We post updates on our school FaceBook page and the community has applauded our efforts and praised the interest and dedication of the students in our school. My students have loved having a snack bar in the classroom. My kids are served free breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snack. However, they are often still hungry especially in the mornings. \r\nThe snack bar is filled with healthy snack choices and it is open daily during our morning recess time. This is to ensure they are still getting breakfast and it's a still about an hour until lunch. Therefore, students won't be too full to eat lunch. Their favorite snack is cereal and the bowls we received from this project are the perfect size. \r\nThank you so much for your donations. The educational setting can be very overwhelming, and overstimulating with little space to have any quiet time during the day. This sensory room allows the students to have that quiet and calming area that they may be seeking. The students that have utilized the room are amazed with all the stuff that is available to them. They love to sit in there and play with all the sensory toys and relax in the comfortable bean bag chairs.
