We do an incentive store weekly as well as had a lot of testing, so the snacks came in handy in giving students a much needed boost and something to look forward to for the end of the testing block or the end of the week. Our incentive store closed out with an amazing show of growth and financial literacy. Students not only learned how to manage their money, but we're able to partake in a lot of snacks that they worked very hard for. With testing season being at the end of the year, it can be hard to keep them on track. Implementing strategies like flexible seating, providing snacks, and offering prizes can have significant positive effects on these students, helping them feel more supported and engaged. These practices not only improve learning outcomes but also promote a sense of belonging and motivation that may otherwise be missing. It is important to me that I teach my students how to care for themselves. Providing them snacks and options helps them realize that it is important for them to care for their bodies while they learn. Small changes in the classroom have had a large impact on my students.
