We needed some basic non-perishables that don't necessarily come with the room. I get a budget for paint, paper, glue, pencils and crayons, but things that get used over and over are harder to get without using my own money.\r\nI know it probably seems dull, but the 2 dish drainers have been a game-changer! We now have a place for palettes and water bowls to go. Not only are they making things more organized, it's easy to see what they're for, so students remember where to but things once they've washed them out.\r\nThe metal plates/palettes are also perfect for so many things. My kindergarteners used them for their string art and we are also about to use them for printmaking - the flat backs on them are perfect to put paint on to then print onto paper. The students love printmaking!\r\nThe glue guns were a hit with my middle schoolers! They are in the middle of a unit making sculptures using cardboard. It fits in perfectly with Earth Month as we are using materials that would have been thrown away. There aren't any finished products yet, but they are grateful for the glue guns as their pieces stick together immediately so they can continue sculpting. Without them, they have to use various things to hold their pieces together until they dry.\r\nLastly, the sketchbooks were very timely! My middle schoolers have nice sketchbooks and most of them had pretty much filled their previous ones, so it was great to be able to give them new ones to use.\r\nAgain, thank you so much for your support! We have a better classroom because of you!","fullyFundedDate":1769874859423,"projectUrl":"project/mrs-cbs-art-class-at-mlk/10038118/","projectTitle":"Mrs. CB's Art Class at MLK","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. CB","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9417170_orig.jpg?crop=2043,2042,x0,y374&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1704664835113","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9417170"},{"teacherId":3286373,"projectId":9892538,"letterContent":"When the printer and Active Playground system arrived in the classroom, scholars were both shocked and excited. This items have greatly impacted my classroom. We have been able to properly clean and sanitize our classroom leading to less student absence due to sickness. \r\n\r\nMost of the items have been used as fun intensives to celebrate students for their positive behavior and their academic success. Students enjoyed being able to receive slushies for the great behavior. It brought joy to my classroom and made students feel appreciated for all of their hard work. The fidget toys, gel pens, candy and snacks made it possible to reward students for winning academic games in class. This made the games more intense and ensured all students participate. Being able to incorporate games and prizes in class helps to make sure all learners are interested into the lesson. \r\n\r\nThe joy that these items brought to my students so much joy and have helped me as well.
