I'm an Urban Teacher Fellow and first-year teacher via Dallas ISD serving a Title I school, where 99% of the scholars come from low-income families and receive free or reduced-price lunch. This doesn't solemnly define the children who attend the school. They are brilliant, full of life, and open to growth. My scholars live in a tough neighborhood yet this doesn't keep them from being South Dallas proud! They aid in my growth just as much as I play a part in theirs. They deserve the best education and learning environments. I do not want them to worry about their needs being met in any classroom. Our classroom is a safe space and home away from home. I want to provide them as much as I can. I do my best with the limited resources that I have out of pocket. Nevertheless, I was taught that you have not because you ask not. I cannot do it alone and I can't rely on the school system. Any help in providing my students with classroom supplies, books, and materials would be extremely appreciated.
