As soon as the students saw the iconic ears, their faces lit up with joy and wonder. You could even hear some who squealed in delight! Many immediately put them on, giggling and looking around to see their classmates transformed into Disney characters. I added bows for students who wanted bows on their ears.\r\n\r\nWe kicked off the week with a virtual \"trip\" down Main Street, U.S.A., using the ears to help students feel like they were part of the magic. We focused on a different \"land\" in the park: Adventureland, Tomorrowland, Fantasyland, and Frontierland with themed review lessons in reading, writing, and math. They loved exploring the other Disney World theme parks also: Epcot, Animal Kingdom, and Hollywood Studios. The ears helped create a sense of community and belonging; even our shyest students participated more eagerly, feeling part of something special.\r\n\r\nWe created digital images and videos to document our adventures and share with the school community on Class DoJo.
