The students have been loving the new books. I have several students making there way through the series and others waiting for their turn. We have implemented a ticket system in our class and the students love the candy as a reward for their tickets. The stickers have been great motivators to use when students are working. While they are completing group or independent work and we see that they are focused and completing the work we give them a sticker. Once other groups sees that stickers are being haded out they start to focus too. They are also great because at the end of the week students who keep up with their planners get a sticker and that motivates them to write down their assignments each day. I have set up a makeshift shop in my classroom where I distribute tickets for positive behaviors and at the end of the week they can use their tickets to buy prizes. Both the tickets and the prizes are funded by you. My students have absolutely loved this new implementation and it has increased classroom participation and learning in my classroom. We are officially in quarter two with set in place procedures all with the help of your donations. For example, the turn in bins and binder boxes are a big help for organizing homework and classwork. We utilize the visual timer every day for pair shares, think time, and transition time improvements. We now have a comfy corner with our beanbag and comfy cozy lighting for video time and lunch relationship building times. I have a podium that my students and I built together that I use each day to easily move around the room to keep students engaged in the lesson. One of my class favorites are the white boards. The colorful paper and folders have already been put to use in math and science projects, and students love how easy it is to keep their work organized and visually engaging.\r\n\r\nOne of my favorite moments was watching students gather on the new rug during group work—what used to feel like a cramped, hard floor has now turned into a collaborative space where they can sit comfortably, share ideas, and learn together. The snacks you helped provide have been equally impactful. For students who may come to school hungry or need a boost during the day, these small treats have given them comfort and energy, allowing them to stay focused during lessons. They were especially grateful (and a little surprised!) to see the variety of options available to them.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we're using these resources to support our current unit on problem-solving and collaboration. The snacks and fidget toys have proven to be incredibly effective incentives, especially for students who need extra motivation or sensory support. One memorable moment occurred during a math station rotation when a student, who usually struggles to stay on task, eagerly completed every activity just to earn a small prize from our new reward bin. The math manipulatives have also enhanced our hands-on learning—during a recent fractions unit, students used visual aids to explore equivalencies and comparisons, deepening their understanding in a way that textbooks alone can't provide.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the new materials, their eyes lit up with excitement and curiosity. The fidget toys were an instant hit, especially among students who benefit from sensory input to stay focused. Even something as simple as the new pencil sharpener created a buzz—students were thrilled to have a tool that worked quickly and effectively without jamming. It may seem like a small detail, but having dependable classroom essentials makes a noticeable difference in our daily routines and helps us maintain momentum during lessons.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we're diving deeper into a multi-step math project where students will apply what they've learned about measurement and geometry to design a model of their dream bedroom. The math manipulatives will support them as they explore dimensions, scaling, and area. The reward system will continue to be a crucial tool in reinforcing positive behavior and academic effort throughout this process. We focused on the most in demand requests and were able to launch our first ever Flag Football League with 94 student participating and the crowning of our First School Champions. We started virtual art club that shared tutorials and styles. We created over 20 patch designs for use by different new and existing organizations and printed 100s of patches. Students were excited and impressed with patches bringing in their shirts on their own time to iron on their participation patches. \r\n\r\nWe are off to a great start and many of the clubs and advisors are ready to get their clubs patched as soon as they begin next year. We have the supplies created and a process ready.
