Your generosity helped provide the basic supplies we need to keep our instruments in good playing condition. The valve oil, cork grease, slide grease, and swabs may seem like small things, but they have made a BIG difference so far!\r\n\r\nThe materials give me an opportunity to teach students how to care for their instruments. From oiling valves every Monday for \"Maintenance Monday\" to applying slide grease and swabbing out a clarinet after playing, these routines help students take responsibility and ownership for their equipment. Learning to care for something valuable is a lesson they can carry into other areas of their lives.=\r\n\r\nMany of our school-owned instruments serve students year after year, so learning to care for them benefits both our current musicians and the students who will use them next. As we continue working on scales, fundamentals, and concert music, these supplies make our daily rehearsals better. Your support is helping us spend more class time making music and giving students the tools to become more independent musicians.
