After receiving the first UIL sweepstakes in Del Rio MS choir history she took the head director position at Huntsville High School. At Huntsville she received regular UIL sweepstakes, had members of the TMEA Texas All-State Choir, and took groups of 1st division solos and ensembles to the UIL Texas State Solo & Ensemble contest in Austin. They also received 1st place in the Texas Renaissance Faire madrigal contest and had many students members in the chapter of Texas Future Music Educators she sponsored. \r\n\r\nAt MacArthur High School the program has grown to receiving multiple sweepstakes a year, All-State choir members, and members of the ACDA National Choir. The A Cappella Treble Choir was invited to perform at the 2024 SWACDA conference in Denver. It is so important that students see themselves represented in literature, and because of your help, we are even closer to achieving a culturally-inclusive classroom library. \r\n\r\nBecause of your donation, we are able to have choice book clubs where students have the opportunity to read and discuss literature with peers with similar interest. They are able to read engaging texts with which they can practice AP-level analytical reading and writing, but more importantly, many of them have found a new favorite book or a new pathway to an unexplored author or genre.
