One of the most rewarding experiences is seeing that \"lightbulb\" moment when a child begins to read with greater fluency and confidence. In my classroom, we have daily reading rotations in which students receive targeted small-group instruction tailored to their individual needs. When they are not working at the teacher table, students move through independent literacy stations- such as \"read to self- where they can explore books from our classroom library and apply their developing phonics skills. In addition, students engage in daily sustained silent reading for 10 -12 minutes at a time to build stamina, strengthen fluency, and cultivate a genuine love of reading.\r\n\r\nOne of my favorite things about the books donated through your support is that there truly is something for all students. The donated collection includes texts that challenge my advanced readers, support my developing readers, and meet the needs of all readers in between. \r\n\r\nSince receiving our donations of books, my students have been eagerly heading to the classroom library as soon as they finish their work to explore and enjoy the new books available to them. It is such a joy to watch students get excited about a new genre or find their new favorite series thanks to your wonderful support of this project.
