Whether we are working collaboratively or independently, the students need to stay calm and avoid distraction. In a classroom full of students, each working at various paces, often on different material, the likelihood of distraction is a constant problem. Students with emotional and behavioral issues are, of course, even more prone to distraction or lack of focus.\r\n\r\nHigh interetst ways to participte, even as simple as colored white board markers or personnal white boards are helpful and motivating. Students with low motivation or self-determination are difficult to engage. Anxiety or disabilities that cause students to lose focus (such as ADHD or ED), are also a detraction from the productivity and fluency of my classroom.
