Their smiles and excitement were priceless!\r\n\r\nWe were able to use the new materials right away by creating ocean themed paintings and crafts. We painted jellyfish, sea turtles, dolphins and more. Our students practiced turn taking, following directions, losing/winning and strengthening academic skills while continuing to build relationships with each other and our adult leaders.\r\n\r\nDuring a stressful time filled with state testing and end of year routines, these games helped us slow down, connect and enjoy learning together. The resources have transformed our lunch meetings into high-energy, happy crafting. Recently, we used the new supplies to create Affirmation Buttons. Students shared the stories behind their designs. It was a powerful moment where a craft project became a bridge to Self-Awareness and social connection.\r\n\r\nThe reaction was pure joy! When the boxes arrived and students saw the supplies they were smiling non-stop. Seeing that people they don't even know cared enough to send these brand-new materials made them feel incredibly seen and valued. It turned a regular lunch break into an event they couldn't wait to start.\r\n\r\nOur next step is diving into Self-Management by creating 'Calming Jars,' that can be used at home. Using the remaining kit materials, students will be able to design a personalized kit to keep in their lockers or backpacks. Then we will be making bookmarks where students will be able to share with classrooms to support our school's collective well-being. This will allow them to apply their Responsible Decision-Making skills to help improve the school climate for everyone.","fullyFundedDate":1758516912377,"projectUrl":"project/project-well-being/9603593/","projectTitle":"Project Well-Being","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Howard","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8836078_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1667952215833","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8836078"},{"teacherId":2509357,"projectId":9480790,"letterContent":"We are so grateful for your generous support of our classroom project!
