Thanks to your generous donations, four of our district's five therapy dogs received fresh vests, new leashes, and water bowls. These supplies are essential to keeping our dogs healthy, comfortable, and ready to do what they do best—support students and staff each and every day.\r\n\r\nThe impact of our therapy dogs can be seen in the words of the students they serve. One student shared that their favorite thing about Henry, an elementary school therapy dog, is that he doesn't play favorites: \"Henry just loves everyone!\" Other students have spoken about his steady and comforting presence, saying, \"Henry will comfort you when you need him. If you need someone to talk to, Henry will always be there. He'll be there if you're sad, happy, angry, or simply need support.\"\r\n\r\nWe are also excited to announce that, because of the positive impact our therapy dog program has had on both the community and the school district since welcoming our first therapy dog in 2019, we will be adding two new members to the Petoskey Pack: Jane and Sterling. Jane will step into the role of a retiring therapy dog, while Sterling will serve students at the remaining elementary school that does not yet have a therapy dog.\r\n\r\nAlthough the school year is coming to a close, our dogs' work is far from over. Throughout the summer, they will continue supporting students through summer school programs and public library reading initiatives.\r\n\r\nThank you again for helping set our therapy dogs up for success.
