It has made learning more hands-on. Instead of just reading or watching, students can design and create real objects. They understand ideas better because they can see and touch what they're learning. When a design doesn't work, students have to figure out why and fix it, helping them build problem-solving skills. This teaches trial-and-error, patience, and critical thinking.\r\nBy supporting math and science learning, students use measurement, geometry, and scale when designing objects. In science, they can print models of things like gears.\r\nKids can design their own inventions, tools, or art projects. They can think creatively and express their ideas in new ways, encouraging creativity. Using a 3D printer teaches basic engineering and design skills and gives students early experience with real-world technology, introducing them to technology and engineering. Many projects are done in groups, so students learn to share ideas, explain their thinking, and work together, in turn promoting teamwork and communication. The 3D printer also boosts motivation and confidence. Seeing a digital idea turn into a real object makes learning fun and gives students a sense of accomplishment. \r\n\r\nThe students have warmed to the 3D printer gradually as they became more comfortable and confident using it. At first, they were curious about the machine. After seeing their first object print, their curiosity quickly became excitement. Their confidence grew with practice as students learned how to design and print. They felt less intimidated by the technology. They were able to learn through trial and error. When designs didn't work the first time, students learned that mistakes were part of the process, which made them more willing to try again. Ownership of the projects increased their engagement. Students became more invested when they realized they could create their own ideas, not just follow directions. Collaboration also made it more fun. Working in groups helped students share ideas, solve problems together, and learn from each other. Their success built enthusiasm. Seeing successful prints and improving designs motivated students and made them eager for new challenges.\r\nTheir experience with the 3D printer shifted from being something new and unfamiliar to a powerful tool they could use to create, learn, and succeed.\r\n\r\nOverall, the 3D printer helped fifth graders learn by turning abstract ideas into real, meaningful experiences.","fullyFundedDate":1760938285899,"projectUrl":"project/3d-tinkering/9709440/","projectTitle":"3d Tinkering","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Tsai","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-7_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/574173"},{"teacherId":1891578,"projectId":8385446,"letterContent":"Thank you for your generous support in providing a book cart for our kindergarten classroom. Your contribution has made a significant impact on our young learners, fostering their love for reading and ensuring they have access to books that meet their individual learning needs.\r\n\r\nOur leveled library is now more organized than ever. Books are neatly sorted by level, making it easy for students to find just the right book for their reading ability. Our kindergarteners now confidently browse and select books independently. The clear organization also makes returning books simple, helping students take ownership of their reading choices and keep our classroom library in great condition.\r\n\r\nBook shopping has become one of the most exciting parts of our reading routine! During work time, the children know exactly where to sit for shared learning experiences. There has been less confusion while transitioning from desk to the rug as everyone knows their spot.
