Also when I need students to find a certain color, the write start colored pencils makes it easy for all my students, especially my english learners, to see the picture on the pencil and match.\r\nWhen the packages arrived in my classroom my students where so excited to open them with me and see what was in inside! It's helped create a quieter, more productive environment where every student can thrive at their own pace without distractions.\r\n\r\nWe're also incredibly grateful for the giant fluid tiles you donated for our cool down corner. With 3D pens, students can bring geometry to life by creating three-dimensional shapes to explore concepts like volume and surface area. Instead of just drawing cubes and prisms on paper, they are *building* them—seeing how height, width, and length truly interact in space. This makes math feel real, not just numbers on a page.\r\n\r\nThe thermometers are just as powerful for learning in science. Students use them to measure temperature changes during experiments and track data over time, deepening their understanding of heat transfer, states of matter, and the scientific method. They love being able to collect real data like scientists instead of just reading about it.\r\n\r\nWhat excites my students most is the sense of creation and discovery these tools bring. They feel like engineers and scientists—designing, testing, and improving their work. Some of my multilingual learners, who often express themselves best through visuals and building, have especially thrived with the 3D pens. It gives them a voice through design, helping them connect language, math, and science in meaningful ways.\r\n\r\nThese technologies are helping all my students see themselves as inventors, thinkers, and problem-solvers—skills that will serve them far beyond the classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1755748837045,"projectUrl":"project/from-heat-to-hands-on-tools-for-science/9441896/","projectTitle":"From Heat to Hands-On: Tools for Science and Math Exploration","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Mojica","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9065240_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1726967882771","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9065240"},{"teacherId":8586065,"projectId":9478337,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for supporting our classroom with the bright bins for storage! They now take ownership of their supplies, keep things tidy, and work more efficiently because materials are easy to access. The bright colors make it simple for even our youngest learners to remember where items belong, which saves valuable instructional time and promotes independence.\r\n\r\nMost importantly, your donation has shown our students that people care about their success. The colorful new pencil bags, freshly sharpened colored pencils, and other essentials brought so much joy to our classroom. One student held up their pencil bag and exclaimed, \"Now I finally have a place for everything!\" Moments like that reminded me how something so simple can make a big difference in building ownership and pride in learning.\r\n\r\nWe are already putting these supplies to work in meaningful ways. During our art-integrated social studies lesson, students used the colored pencils to create illustrated timelines. Having a variety of colors allowed them to organize their ideas visually and express their creativity in ways they couldn't before. The pencil bags also made it possible for each student to keep their materials neat and ready to use, which has saved valuable class time and reduced stress over lost supplies.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we plan to continue integrating these resources into both academic and creative projects. In math, students will soon use the colored pencils to highlight place value patterns and create visual models of fractions. In writing, they will keep editing tools like highlighters and pens in their pencil bags, giving them quick access as they revise their work. These tools are helping my students not only learn but also develop responsibility and organizational skills—important steps toward their success inside and outside the classroom.\r\n\r\nThank you for making this possible. The novels you provided have opened the door to deeper discussions, stronger reading skills, and a renewed excitement for literature among my students.\r\n\r\nThese books have allowed us to explore essential reading skills like making inferences, identifying themes, analyzing character development, and comparing different points of view. We've also used them to practice writing thoughtful responses to literature and engage in meaningful conversations about the world around us. Each novel we read becomes a tool to help students think critically, build empathy, and connect personally to the text.\r\n\r\nIn our classroom, reading is interactive and engaging. We read together in small groups, participate in read-alouds, and even host mini book clubs. Students are encouraged to annotate the text, ask questions, and share their thoughts and predictions. You'll often hear laughter, gasps, and enthusiastic debates as we explore the pages of these new stories.\r\n\r\nOne student, in particular, who previously struggled to connect with books, has completely turned around since diving into one of the new novels. He told me, \"I didn't know books could be this good.\" Now, he's asking to read ahead! Another student loves acting out scenes and leads our discussions with passion and curiosity. It's clear these books are making a lasting impact.\r\n\r\nThank you for putting high-quality literature into the hands of my students. Many had never played an instrument before, and they couldn't wait to try them out. The room filled with laughter and eager hands reaching to ring the first notes. It was a special moment, and it was all thanks to you!\r\n\r\nSince then, we have been using the handbells in so many creative ways. My students have been learning to play simple songs together, each responsible for a different note. We've also used the bells in other subjects—like math, where we explored patterns and sequences, and literacy, where rhythm-based activities have made reading even more engaging.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, my students are excited to take on more complex songs and even put on a small classroom performance to showcase their new skills.
