We have 1:1 laptops and access to iPads at our school. We want to maximize these technologies across the curriculum. As a 6th grade team, we have determined that allowing students to show us how they think mathematically and solve problems is critical. Please help us by supporting the purchase of headphones with mics so our mathematicians can shine. We want each student, weekly, to show their work verbally and mathematically in an efficient way. We will use iMovie or Flipgrid to have each child show us how to do the math. By completing this assignment each week, we intend to reinforce their content knowledge, but also improve their communication skills and planning skills. This format allows students who are already proficient to 'show off' and still allows struggling mathematicians the privacy to succeed without 'peer fear.
