Because of your kindness, students in our school are receiving not only food, but also comfort, stability, and hope. Your donation has had a profound impact on the daily lives of so many young people in our building, and it continues to make a difference every single day.\r\nOur school serves approximately 1,600 students, and many of them quietly carry burdens that are far beyond what any child should have to worry about. Food insecurity is a reality for more students than most people realize. For some, school is the only place where they know they will consistently have access to food. Thanks to your support, we are now able to provide snacks during the school day and take-home food bags to students who may not otherwise have enough to eat at home.\r\nWhat has been especially moving is seeing the emotional impact this support has had on our students. Having access to food has helped students feel safer and more secure while at school. When children are not distracted by hunger or worried about whether they will have food later that evening, they are far more able to focus on learning, participate in class, and simply enjoy being students. The relief this creates for them is something we witness every day.\r\nOne of the most incredible outcomes of this project has been the way it has built connections throughout our school community. Word of mouth has traveled quickly among students, and more and more young people have started coming by my office because they heard this is a safe place where they can get food to take home. Many of these are students I may never have had the opportunity to meet otherwise in a school as large as ours.\r\nWhat began as a project to address hunger has also become an opportunity to build trust and relationships. Students who first came in quietly asking for snacks or food bags now stop by regularly just to talk, check in, or share how they are doing. Some students who were previously disconnected from school adults have found a space where they feel seen, valued, and cared for. These interactions have opened doors for meaningful, long-lasting relationships that extend far beyond food itself.\r\nYour generosity has helped create a ripple effect of compassion throughout our school. You have allowed students to experience dignity, support, and a sense of belonging. For many students, simply knowing there is someone who cares enough to make sure they have food has been incredibly powerful.\r\nPlease know that your donation is making a direct and lasting impact on the lives of students and families in our community. The snacks and take-home bags are reaching a multitude of low-income students, and every item provided represents care, kindness, and hope. Your support reminds our students that they matter and that there are people who believe in them and want them to succeed.\r\nThank you for helping us care for our students not only academically, but emotionally and physically as well. We are deeply appreciative of your generosity and the difference you have made in our school community.","fullyFundedDate":1776432780071,"projectUrl":"project/help-students-with-food-insecurity/10177358/","projectTitle":"Help Students With Food Insecurity!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Shelby Wood","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7929922_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1761176037951","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7929922"},{"teacherId":5181606,"projectId":10181167,"letterContent":"The students in our Skills Classroom are buzzing with excitement after unboxing the ChompSaw. Students raided their home recycling bins, and a school-wide \"treasure hunt\" revealed a nearly infinite supply of replenish able cardboard right on campus.\r\n\r\nWe are committed to completing every instructional lesson to ensure everyone is a confident, safe operator. Students worked in pairs to complete some builds, but with a catch! Only one student could look at the instructions, and the other had to build it based on verbal directions from their partner only! This yielded some rich discussion on clarity, direction, location, color, shape, size, orientation, and other important descriptors in our communication, turning \"that one goes on there\" into \"the 2x4 yellow brick goes in the upper right corner.\"\r\n\r\nStudents continue to bring these activities up in class, asking for more.
